Travis Boyer
Como La Flor
With Caitlin Keogh

May 29th - June 27th, 2015

SIGNAL is proud to present Como La Flor, an exhibition of new painting and sculpture by Travis Boyer with a new large-scale painting by Caitlin Keogh.

"Como La Flor," Selena's 1992 Tejano Pop anthem for which the exhibition is named, tells the allegorical tale of a wilting flower, the story of a love found and lost. This body of new work by Boyer explores beauty in vitality, and the implications of inevitable death and decay.

Join us for an opening reception Friday, May 29th.

The opening reception will include a musical performance by harpist Shelley Burgon from 7-9pm.

More performances to be announced.

DaikyoFuroShiki Record Release

DaikyoFuroShiki are Tamio Shiraishi and Cammisa Buerhaus. Yuu is their debut LP, out on Wild Flesh Productions.

To celebrate the launch, Buerhaus + Shirashi will play a wholly original work. The composition has been set according to the stars, working towards hypnotic accumulations of strange, stoned woodwinds, elementally arranged male/female voices that endlessly nodd-out in widescreen vistas of spare, slow, revelatory blooms of tone poetry. To this end, Buerhaus has assembled a group of players including Sigrid Lauren (chroma color organ), Sadaf H. Nava (violin), Matthew Kruszelnicki (bassoon), Lanny Jordan Jackson (guitar), and Felix Bernstein (voice).
